The Christmas pie is an open topped affair but the layering is truly spectacular on the eye: cranberry topping, followed by stuffing, which dominates proceedings and tastes as rich as pate, then turkey meat, sausage, bacon and onion. The perfect accompaniment to putting the decorations up!
