Curralls has a veritable feast of pastries, including the curious cheese and bean slice. I ask for meat and potato being in that territory and she pulls one out of the back. I also clock the Curralls “special” pie. Having been pissed about enough today I am obliged to ask what’s so special about it. It’s a beef pie but made with a hot water pastry and seasoned with pepper and at 97p each it’s rude not to. It is small but full bodied in flavour with peppery minced beef throughout
