I don’t think they sell pies anywhere in Greggs any more but they used to, so here goes. I’m given two options over the counter in terms of temperature: not so warm or inferno-like straight from the oven. The pie is crumbly and heartburn inducing on the outer crust albeit a softer, doughy inside. The filling is plentiful if a little sloppy to eat. A bit non-descript and watery but a white horse arrives midway through to rescue it in the form of a peppery gravy kick. It is a competitively priced purchase no doubt possible as a consequence of the vast economies of scale Greggs have managed to accumulate over the years.
