The pie has a moist filling containing juicy morsels of mince and large slabs of potato, which are impeccably soft, along with a gentle peppery kick to remind you who’s boss, inside a very robust crust. There’s massive chunks of potato, with a high meat content too and maybe even a bit of onion in there giving it a surprising luxurious taste. The crust is dark brown and well glazed, if a little crumbly in parts, but the pie possesses an admirable depth to it.
